Not sure if this is the right place for these questions but I'm still just a BSN student thinking of different advance nursing paths and specialties. I wanted to know if say later I took the CRNA track and I work that for a few years, is one able to switch into other specialties? like could I go for DNP or Family NP, preop, do the specialties even have that ability to change advance nursing careers if they wanted to?

Yes, you can become licensed in as many specialties as you want.

Thanks. I just thought there was something about getting a PhD or Doctor degree first and then a person wont be able to back track and do anesthesia cause its a master degree level. All these tracks are great but confusing.

Eventually you will need a DNP to be a CRNA, possibly as soon as 2020. However if you already have a DNP you should be able to bypass all the core classes like research and patho and take your degree specific classes. Many people in other fields get multiple Masters or Doctorate degrees, and this is no different.
