Has anyone interviewed or attended the Fairfield CRNA program at Bridgeport?

I have an interview in sept 2017 for May 2018 admission at Fairfield University Bridgeport CRNA program and was hoping to see if anyone can provide any information about the interview, impression of the program and school or what experiences were through out the program. I appreciated any help and am super excited about the interview.

Thanks!

Did anyone think about calling and asking what number they are on the list?

Can I ask what your guys stats are? My GPA isn't the greatest and when I asked them for how I could improve that was pretty much all they told me. If that was the case I don't know why they bothered with an interview though. Any suggestions?

Undergrad combined: I have an ASN and BSN was 3.7 Science GPA was almost 3.8ish (I think) all A's only one B.

I retook all my science classes from undergrad and got all A's except A&P I didnt retake that so its still a B.

Also who did you speak with, did you email the program director?

I have a 3.4 GPA, 3.1 science. So it's not great.

I have been a nurse for almost 5 years. 2.5 in the OR and 2 in a level 1 trauma center MICU. I have charge and preceptor experience, on multiple committees, BLS, ACLS, PALS, CCRN, and TNCC.

I haven't taken the GRE

I spoke the director and assistant director.

Totally not related but are you from CT?

If you have not retaken your science classes from undergrad I would do that first. That will make a huge impact, not only in your GPA but also in how determined you are to get into school. I think that experience helps beacuse the pool is full of 1 to 2 year out of school candidates however many have near perfect GPA and great GRE scores.

I plan to take the GRE's, I have also reached out to the director via email for some tips for next year.

No I'm from Kentucky. Yeah I am going to take some next semester to help improve my GPA. I also asked for advice for next year. So we will see. Fingers crossed!

To all who heard the dreaded news:

I cannot possibly be more sincerely in my saying that I am sorry to hear the bad news. I do not take lightly the lingering disappointment that you must feel. I do believe that your persistence and drive will both illuminate your determination and intrinsic character, as well as pay dividends for either acceptance into a future cohort or possibly a different program. You are critical care nurses, all incredibly savvy I am sure; and so in accordance with the same inherent drive that got you to where you are today... Don't quite!

To any whom received acceptance:

I would very much like to get in contact with you, through group messaging or otherwise, to figure out the logistics of living arrangements, tasks to be completed, introductions, etc.

Being waitlisted is hard, I just want to moarn not getting in. Instead I have a tiny bit of hope, not sure which is worse.

Anyone get any useful advice from the school or info on the waitlist?

Waiting is very hard. It prob will be quite some time before we know anything. However I think the date to respond with accepting a position is the 23rd so maybe a possibility if someone doesn't accept their spot. We shall see. It's hard waiting but all things happen for a reason. Good luck everyone and congrats to those who were accepted

Hi! Thanks for posting! Would you be able to tell me how many days a week you school schedule is for the first three semesters? I was thinking about applying this year but have a commitment for the first three semester next year so I wanted to see how doable it is. Thanks again!

Did anyone here who got waitlisted get a call? Anyone going to CRNA school off the waitlist?
