Maryville University PNP or FNP

  1. Hello,

I am applying to the online PNP program ay maryville university for spring. This is a very new program and I know the chances of getting someone to respond that is in the program is low. So if you have any information on this school and their online format I would like to get some more info. I would love to find any others that are going to be in the program next year as well. Thanks

    HI-

I am in the PNP program now. I started Summer of 2015. I will say I haven't had any problems with the program until last week when we received clinical information. Up front I asked about clinicals and settings and was told it was all pediatric and I could do them in my clinic I work in. Now we receive an email stating they have to be done in an adult setting which sees patients up to the age of 21. At my clinic we see patients up to this age but they are adamant that this is not acceptable. As well, in the state of Oklahoma in which I reside, as a PNP we are not allowed by law to see, or treat patients over the age of 18. They even told another student if she had a problem with the way the run the program she needs to consider changing schools. This was not told to us up front and I am going to continue to fight since I have already invested almost 6 months into the program. Just please, please, please, do a lot of research so you don't get into what I am experiencing now.

I went to Maryville's online AGPCNP program and I passed my boards yesterday. The program was well structured. The tests are proctored and most of the instructors are engaging during office hours. I felt like I worked for my degree and certification. I am a proud alumni and NP.

Hello Rita! thank you for your post and CONGRADS!!!

Im considering Maryville FNP or AGPCNP. did you also work full time? can you be so gracious to share your total experience and how the classes were structured? do you feel your experience made the program easier?
