Okay I need to vent!!!!! I have $45,000 in debt (not counting interest)...As graduation approaches I am upset tinking about the loans I will have to pay back!!!! I have $15,000 from direct loans and $30,000 from chase. What the heck!!!!! am I alone???? should I consolidate? any advice?:uhoh21:
when your loans are paid off life will be even sweeter lol. for loans its good to know the maximum you will need for your education and aim for a starting salary goal. This way you can figure out a budget and try to see if you can pay that loan under ten yr. I aim to pay mine in 3 yrs by paying $1200 a month
Ok guys I want to SEE this thrifty thread.........so I'll start one! I hope you guys come there, I want some crock pot recpes and such! My bf was just let go from his job and we are about to start eating pork n beans (lol!). I am not a very imaginative cook. I already do all of mine and kids shopping at thrift stores, it is actually my favorite past time. I get all my books there as well!

I have $38,000 in loans as well but I'm ok with that. To me its a better investment that the $22,000 car I bought last year (that I love) that will only depreciate in value! LOL!
Before becoming an RN we were the working poor. Now, even with my loan payments, my family is really benefiting from my income....I also now have health insurance (something I went without for about 10 years), 401K, savings, paying off credit cards, live in a better area (no more gun shootings are neighbors fighting!), etc. So my loan investment is DEFINITELY worth it for me! I would not have been able to go to school without loans....I was able to go to college while still staying at home while my kids were babies/toddlers (I worked part time as a tech in an ICU maybe 1 night a week), my husband worked full time.
