Ok. I need some advice/information. Recently a classmate that i have been friends with for years whom i trust very much and was positive that she took her place in the nursing program just as serious as i did cheated off one of my papers . It was an assignment that was fairly easy to do but it contained questions that were somewhat opinion questions not just one word answers. Anyways I had turned in my paper and my friend asked me if I understood all of the questions and what the teacher was looking for. I told her that she could look at my answers to see how i answered them for a reference. She agreed so i emailed her my paper because we were just walking into class without another thought. I knew she was responsible and i had no doubt in my mind that she wouldn't take any of my information and use it as her own. In fact, at the time i didn't have any second thoughts about whether or not she would cheat off me. Well, i didn't hear anything else about it until a few weeks later when my teacher confronted us and said that we were getting a 0 on the papers and were being sent to the A&P committee to discuss the cheating. I was shocked. I had no idea what was going on and i asked my teacher if i could compare the papers to see what she was talking about. Well, sure enough there was my answers basically word for word on a few of her questions. I was in disbelief. I went to my meeting, told the entire truth that i sent her the paper for a reference and i had no idea she would copy any of my information and that i would never give out my work with the intent of letting others cheat off me. Anyways so my question is... Does anyone know what happens after the student leaves this meeting? And what do you think my consequences will be? I am so scared and upset I know now that i should of never gave her my paper because of the temptation but i honestly did not think i was doing anything wrong at the time. Please leave me some positive feedback if you can! -And just in case anyone thinks this is just an excuse ITS NOT this is the honest truth of what happened and it seems like the committe understood that i was not the one who cheated fyi
Unbelievable....my first response was toss her behind right under that bus!It is good that you turned in your paper before sharing your notes making it very clear who took advantage of the situation.
I just showed this to my daughter who is entering nursing school in the fall who has a big heart and would have done exactly what you did....she learned something today and I thank you for that. What Mom says sometimes only goes so far.
Sending good thoughts ((HUGS))
Awe that is awesome!!! I am so thankful for all the positive feedback! Anyone and EVERYONE should be aware of this because i would have never guessed in a million years that id be having to go to a academic dishonestly meeting (seriously though! I'm the one in class that shusssshes people who are talking in class!) UGH so stressful and scary:nailbiting: Definitely will NEVER be letting anyone see any of my homework EVER AGAIN!!!!
Our school has a strict policy on this and both parties would be dismissed from the program, be it intentional or not and it goes on your permanent record and one is banned from future admission to the program.
I think if you have solid evidence of originality, that goes well for you. Review your school policies on this and see what it says.
This incedent remind me of an old computer science class I took in programming. Noone knew how to get the final C+ programming assignment printed, so one guy cheated by using another program to get his printout. He gave it to the whole class. Me and 2 other guys refused to cheat but we still could not get our printouts. The proffesor failed the 3 of us and passed everyone else in class even when she knew all the prints were exactly the same. Yeah we were penalized for being honest and the school did not give us our certification.
Cheating just messes everyone up

Ugh I am disgusted for you! What a horrific, despicable thing to do! I do stuff like what you did all the time (granted I haven't started the nursing program yet, but it other classes). I am happy to share examples with friends. It never would have occurred to me that someone I called 'friend' would do such a thing! I really hope things go alright for you and am so sorry she treated you like that.
