Straighterline Sociology

Nursing Students Excelsior

Sigh, I am taking this class for my Excelsior requirement and I must say it is the most boring read ever! I just cannot hardly make it through the chapters. Oh the other hand, I love the Anatomy and have flow through it with taking 8 exams and a midterm over a couple of days.

Well, back to Sociology I go.

REA CLEP w/CD intro Sociology...1 week study, then CLEP out.

I know this is an old post, but the intro to sociology that you can clep, is it accepted towards the excelsior sociology requirement? Thanks

Thanks again BarbaraNM for the info to clep!

Here is the list, from the CLEP website, of all the accepted CLEP exams by Excelsior:

I see there is an intro sociology, but wasn't sure if that is the same equivalent to the one excelsior wants. Like in my local college here, they would not accept it and consider it as an intro only but still require me to take sociology. Thanks for the response. Im ready to finish these last prereqs and def not thrilled to open the book on these!

So it looks like excelsior does accept the clep intro to sociology I saw in a previous tread. Thanks again for sending the link! Good luck with all your theory exams. I just finished mine and still have those few prereqs that I plan in doing along the way. I'm hoping to register for the September FCCA.

Good for you! I didn't realize you were so far along... and good luck with the FCCA!

Since June, I have done Math (ALEKS), Info Lit (Penn Foster), HG&D (CLEP), and I'm working on Eng 101 (Straighterline). Eng 101 is kicking my butt... very tedious, LOTS of papers to submit, but I'm getting close to completing it. Next is Micro (ECE), and hopefully Transitions and Health Safety. I plan to enroll before Oct 1.

Well at least you are knocking out those prereqs. I de don't care for them as its been awhile since I graduated from college. The nursing theory exams weren't so bad to get into studying for since it's what we do, but gosh I don't care for micro and such lol. You are in the right path so keep it up and if you need any tips/study guides for theory let me know! Glad to help which ever way I can!!

THANK YOU!!!

What I love most about this board is that everyone is SO willing to help and encourage everyone else! When I first started reading it a couple of years ago, I was amazed at all the great people on here, struggling through the same journey! I have gotten SO many great tips, and am trying to also help others by sharing things I have learned.

Yes I agree with you. I have gotten the most support and inspiration from this site! Even though my family and husband are supportive, they really have no idea of what we go through and the stress along with it! Lol, so I consider the nurses here as my extended family as well!! Good luck honey and we are all here cheering each other along the way!

Studied 6 hours using REA and Upward mobility Soiology CLEP app for iphone and passed my Intro to Sociology CLEP today!!!!!!!!! I'm so thankful. Now to study for finals before a long awaited vacation =)
