Straight A's in Med/Surg

Published

Does anyone use this series of books for study help?

They are Straight A's in Med/Surg, Pharmacology, Peds/Ob and so on.

They are pricey but look very helpful

If anyone uses them are they worth the price?

Thanks,

Melanie

I would also like to know if these are useful as I was considering a few of them.

Sorry, I've never heard of these before. Hopefully someone here knows about them and can give you some feedback. Sounds interesting.

I dont know about these books,, but i wonder, why do you look for a book to help you get A's when its just one more book you have to deal with while in school. I mean,, why spend your time looking at a book to help you get A's when if you use the book you were given and study it,, you will get A's anyway. Use the book you bought for the class and save the money on study books for buying a NCLEX review after your done. There is no easy way through to make A's except for good ole hard work.

Sometimes you can get really great information and tips from books on how to study better and manage your time. You can read every word from your Med/Surg book and still end up failing a test if you don't study the material properly. Reading the material isn't everything.

Oh it's a "Made Incredibly Easy" book .... I have the Patho book in that series and found it to be helpful when I took patho. I've heard good things about the series.

I looked on amazon and there's a few reviews about it, just scroll down to read the reviews. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1582550557/102-8988241-3076158?v=glance

I just purchased the Pharm for Nurses Made Incredibly easy and am using it presently to study for Pharm test tomorrow and I have found it very helpful.

Each person studies differently and I have been one of those students who bought the work books that go with the books we had to purchase for NS and have used them and will use them again coming up on an OB test. That method has worked for me so far. Also did this in prerecq. and can't tell you how many times it saved my butt.

The reason that I bought the Pharm book was b/c our Pharm book by Lehne sucks :uhoh3: and is so hard to understand with so much more info than you need to know-the book mentioned above is kind of like the Saunders, it cuts out all the bullsh** and gets to the heart of the matter. :). It's been a running joke with my study group that when we grad. we are going to have a Lehne book burning party :chuckle . I think some of the books are written on a Masters Degree level and I am for whatever is going to help you study!! :)

I rarely use the books that we were given to study from and I usually get straight A's. Since everyone is different, some benefit from things that are broken down in a straight to the point format and don't look at it as an easy way but a smarter way.

i have the Straight A's in Pharm...and i think it's helpful.. i was thinking of buying that book too but im running out of time since im taking my boards first week of may. currently right now im reading saunders comprehensive and prentice hall comprehensive reviews and rationale. honestly, prentice hall is pretty informative.. check it out!

haha just when i was going to bookmark this post, it was about a book.

if you do get str8 A's from reading the str8 a's series please let me know lol
