Stony Brook University School of Nursing Basic Baccalaureate Program Two Year - Class of 2025

Published

Hi everyone!

The application window is finally closed for the two-year BS nursing program at Stony Brook. So I wanted to make this thread because I haven't seen one. Let's stay in touch during this process. I wish everyone success during their journey.

I'm so bummed. I felt the interview went extremely well, but then I had technical difficulties during the test time (I was doing it from my work computer, and the test website was blocked by our IT department) and ended up having to do the exam from my phone. But by this time it was already half way past the start time. I had to hurry up and make selections because there was no way I would have been able to do all those questions without a calculator in 15 minutes. Plus, it sucked having to write an essay from my phone. So I'm not feeling as confident as I did during the interview, especially because they emphasized the competitiveness of the program (80 seats that they are going to fill from 150+ applicants). I e-mailed them to let them know what happened, so I'm hoping they have some mercy on me. But for right now I'm devastated to have made it this far only to have a stupid technical difficulty mess up this opportunity. So beware, if you have to do the test from a work computer, either reconsider or find out from your IT department if Google docs will be blocked. I wish I just went home and did it on my personal computer.

??‍♂️ hopefully they work with you. Im guessing you have already contacted them about the situation. Did they give you any feedback as of yet

@Rrobbie they responded to an email I sent explaining my situation, but they only asked if I was able to complete both parts. Even though I had to guess part of the math section, I'm worried they won't care ?

for those who had an interview, did they mention how long it might take for us to hear back?

They said 6-8 weeks

They said 6-8 weeks but from what I've read from previous threads it's more towards 8 weeks. Also they said don't get discouraged if you are waitlisted because they do accept a good amount of waitlisted students

Hi all! I wanted to congratulate everyone for applying and additionally getting interviewed. I am beyond nervous, hopefully you are all doing some self-care and we all get in <3

So glad I found this thread! I have been checking my emails daily... hoping next we hear something!

Goodluck!! The wait is going to kill me , I know it LOL. I'm so excited and nervous for this process. I've been working in health care since 2013, and currently getting my LPN certificate at Suffolk

How do you like the lpn program at suffolk?
