Stony Brook University NP Summer 2023

Updated:   Published

I wanted to start this forum for future applicants to discuss future school plans. I applied for the FNP that starts Summer 2023, just awaiting to see how the process goes.

Nothing there ?

How about primary care, what would you expect to see ? Like accept? Or "sorry to tell you that”…?

You get an automatic message from [email protected], saying you have an important message. It takes you to the application portal where you will see a link to a document that tells you if you were accepted or not. You can also log into solar (if you have an account already) and there would be an admission decision link.

Thanks, That means you need to receive an email first. I haven't received anything for primary care yet. Did anyone hear back for Primary care NP ?

Got mine for acute care

I hope you got good news? Just checked mine again- nothing!

I just got accepted into the FNP Summer 2023 program.
im concerned about it being an online program and also having to find my own clinical placements. What has everyone heard about this program? Is it worth the cheaper price?

Well I can tell you what I've heard from NPs and NP students for the past almost ten years. No program is perfect or really "worth" the price- and also it's very subjective. If you can afford U Penn for example of course I'd rather go there than stony Brook. But I personally can't. So I hope I get into SB...it may not be the "best" program out there but it's still a reputable school.

IDK- for example I got into NYU and suny Binghamton for my BSN. I wanted so badly to pick NYU but the price tag made me see stars. I still don't regret picking Binghamton. It's what matters to you

Does anybody know what the structure of the FNP program is? Online classes once a week? I'm not sure what it entails

OK did anyone else who applied to a cute care hear back? Or was it just one person on this thread that heard back with an acceptance for acute?
