Hey everyone! I'm in the middle of my prerequisites for the nursing program at Stony to apply for admission next fall! Just wanted to reach out and say hey to anyone else in the same shoes! Where else are you all applying?
SBU is obviously my first choice, but I'm also applying to NYU, Adelphi, Molloy, I might apply to York and Lehman, and I might apply to LIU Brooklyn. I would apply to Hunter, but I don't want to transfer for the spring only to be waitlisted (or rejected!) for one of their 100 seats.
HiI submitted my application back in September I just now came across on the website additional prerequiste classes are needed, including US history, global issues and a 2nd semester foreign lanuage. Does anyone know if this applies to us? Are we suppose to have all these classes in. I don't know when they changed everything.
I think those prerequisites are for the new applicants, that means if you want to apply for 2015 program you will need those extra clases. I also notice they change the chair for the program so maybe that is why they are asking for new prerequisites.
Hey, i had my interview on the 23rd and they told us that we should hear about a decision anywhere from the end of april to the beginning of may. I had the program director along with two professors interview us, did you guys also have that? And, does anyone know how much the interview counts towards thr entire decision because i felt i messed up big time lol. Oh well.....
I had my interview on the 15th. Do you know the names of who interviewed you? I am military and I am not sure how that affect my acceptance status. It seems like Stony Brook is the only school in NY that offers Veterans’ Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing Program (VBSN) - See more at: Press Release | Stony Brook Medicine
Not yet.....I wonder if I ask them for a early decision if they will give it to me. I know certain schools do that for military members. I am in the military and they will let me out to complete my degree with Stony Brook if I am able to produce an acceptance letter before a deadline date, which is around mid April.

I had no idea they were doing that. We have a few veterans in our class right now but I don't know of anyone active or in reserves. As terribly disorganized and late as the SON is at giving us info, in my experience they are usually pretty sympathetic to personal situations and I know that they do like to acknowledge military service. Id send a polite email to the director letting them know how interested you are in the program and you unfortunately have a date that you have to give notice. If it's a nice email they might help you out. Good luck!
I have a question guys. Is anyone on here who did their interview on Fri Mar 14th. I am trying to remember the names of the three members who interviewed me. I know the names for sure of two, but the third I am unsure. The names are Karen Allard and Professor Stacey Frawley. I am trying to remember the third person.[TABLE=width: 430]
