Hey guys! So I just applied to the SBU Basic (2 year) program a couple of days ago. I thought it would be nice to start a forum. Feel free to ask any questions! And good luck to all who are applying!!!
I know exactly how everyone is feeling that was rejected. It's crushing when you did everything you could to be a good candidate. If you're already in an associate's program, just stay there, it's cheap tuition and everyone takes the same NCLEX at the end. I'm about to graduate from an associate's program in 3 weeks and 10 days after that I start at Stony Brook's RN Baccalaureate program. It's less competitive to get into than the basic BSN and you'll end up with a Stony Brook BS in nursing degree anyway. That program can be done in either 1 year or 2 years, whichever you chose. Just make sure to apply before the deadline before you graduate and you'll be all set to start in it immediately. Besides, there are more associate's nurses (working in the hospital) than bachelor's so as long as you're persistent you CAN get a job with an associate's.
Rejected as well! Sorry to everyone who did not get in. When one door closes another one opens!!.... Good news is I received my acceptance letter for Nassau today in the mail!!! Nassau has joint admission with Farmingdale. Guess I will go that route. Farmingdale already accepted me to the advanced bachelor program contingent upon my score on the NLN. program starts in spring 2014 but it takes 3 years to complete. So I guess Nassau/ Farmingdale joint admission for me. Will get my bachelors this way instead. Have my orientation for Nassau May 20.

Congrats girl!!
I also got a rejection email last night :-( I am still very upset as I'm sure everyone else is who also got rejected ..hoping that something good comes out of this for all of us in the end who didn't get in and congrats to all of you who are accepted I'm assuming if you didn't get an email yet that it's probably a good sign good luck to everyone in the future as nurses which ever path you may take !
