Stony Brook Nursing Basic BSN Fall 2013 applicants

Hi everyone!! I applied for the program too and am so anxious to find out if I got in or not! I called today and they said they are still making decisions and we should be hearing within the next couple of days!!! (I feel like they tell me that every time lol) Good Luck everyone!

omg really they said only couple days ? so maybe we gonna hear before friday.. omg cant wait .. i am tired of calling them everyweek and hearing that end of april, but now u saying it would be in a cauple days ..

I called to try and get a time line and they told me they couldn't say when but definitely end of April possibly may. So confusing considering they told someone else a couple days.

I am in need of some advice. Like many of you, I applied to other programs. Being that Sbu is my 1st choice, I am reluctant to hand in my $400 deposit for a school that has already accepted me in hopes that sbu will accept me. It's due May 1st. Should I hand it in and wait, just in case or should I pass it up?

It's so stressful, I wish everyone luck.

If you don't have 3rd option I would suggest you to put 400$ deposit. If sbu not accept you then you will loose second option too. (If decision come out after may1)

Ugh now possibly May?! They love to torture us ..... @kareys I would maybe wait another day or two and give your deposit just in case then you are sure to have a back up plan if you are not accepted to SB you have something to fall back on it would suck loosing the 400 but at least you have a spot held for you!

Well we still have a week left in April and thats more than a couple days. KareyS if I was in your shoes I would pay the deposit and hope for the best. No one is sure they will be accepted and if you wait and possibly do not get accepted do you have a back up plan? Look at it this way if you pay the other school and get into stony brook that's amazing plus going to stony brook oppose to a private program will cost thousand more any way and you will save in the long run. Good luck it is definitely stressful.

Thanks for the help everyone. I'm going to make an appointment with the school to make sure I definitely want to be there if I don't get into sbu. It's true, I would end up getting my $400 back in savings if I were to get accepted into sbu. I was accepted into another school with a different major. That was just in case all else fails. I also applied to nyu, but that's out the Window. I can't even begin to stress how irresponsible they are.

This is going to be a long week!
