I applied to the Stony Brook BSN program a few weeks ago. I just wanted to start a thread so we can keep each other updated and answer any questions. Anyone else apply?

Hi there,

I applied to the accelerated program and didn't get in. I'm thinking of applying to their basic program since the deadline is January 3rd. Just wondering if it's worth it.

Hi,

I applied to the nursing program. Based on last years forum and the year before that, applicants were informed of interviews on January 18th. Im not sure if they are sending out interview invitations later or if they sent it already. Did anyone get an interview email?

Is there another thread for this? Why is it so quiet compared to other years?

I too applied and haven’t heard anything yet, so I’m anticipating the worst at this point but would like confirmation. Have people gotten their interview emails yet?

I applied for the Fall 2019 program as well and I haven’t heard anything yet. I’m curious as to why there’s virtually no threads or activity regarding applications this year though.

I was wondering the same thing, but I believe allnurses website has not been functioning properly for a little while. Maybe thats why. And I started to think the worst too, but I think they might email this week. I emailed someone on the admissions board who normally responds in 15 minutes on Friday and there was no response, probably meaning that they weren’t there. Based on prior years applicant experiences, they got emails before the end of January. So hopefully!

I also applied to the Fall 2019 program and thought it was very weird they’re no other threads for this year. I am starting to get worried that emails haven’t gone out yet. Hopefully we all hear back this week.

Same here! Allnurses wouldn’t even let me sign up for a while. Now it seems to work.

I applied as well and received an email on 1/14 to schedule my interview. Very exciting!!

I don’t know if they still send out emails but wish you guys luck to get one! I was probably just in the first wave of emails.

Would you mind telling me what your GPA and pre req grades were like?

3.7 overall GPA. I have A’s in all my pre reqs except the sciences, in which I have B+ however I haven’t taken Micro Bio and stats yet. I had very good recommendations but otherwise no related work experience.

Makes no sense. I have a 3.6 GPA, have almost all of my Pre Reqs done with Bs and B+s in the sciences and As In everything else. I know I had great recommendations and I have 5 years work experience working in a group home. I’m frustrated. I doubt they’re still sending out interviews at this point.

I haven't heard anything back either and I'm also feeling pessimistic that they're still sending emails if they sent them last week. Had a 3.7 GPA and all pre reqs done as of last semester. Guess it's on to plan B.
