Hello everyone, I'm currently in the Stony Brook accelerated (1 year) program and here to help with questions you might have. It was useful for me to look at the thread from last year when I was applying so I wanted to get one started for all of you. Feel free to post questions or message me. I hope this is helpful.

silly question, is it just me who finds the LOR process a little annoying? Getting letters from busy professors and physicians was hard enough. Now electronic recommendations....i feel like i have to be on everyones back lol

Thats what I had to do. I called them every other day to ask if the did it. When you put in the rquest, what date did you put? I told them the deadline was in 2 weeks lol so they did it 2 days before the deadline (deadline I gave them) don't tell then the actual deadline or they'll never get them in lmao

Hi Everyone!

I just submitted my application today. I feel relieved but now comes the waiting!! Does anyone have any insight into the questions asked during the interview?

Also, I am in the process of completing Microbiology & Lifespan Development. Would SBU put me on a waitlist until those courses are completed?

Hi! I have heard that having a job throughout this program is very hard. Did you work or know anyone who held a job during their time in the program?

Hi guys! I know today is the last day for people to submit their application. I was wondering how soon after do people hear if they are invited to interview?

I never got my SOLAR account information but I can log in when you click on apply..and see when my application was submitted and when my references were received but its no my solar account. I just called student services and they told me I was suppose to get my SOLAR account information but I have not :/

I just called and asked the same question to admissions. They said mid-Oct to early-Nov you hear back. But from the previous posts for class of 2017, people started getting calls for interviews as early as Oct 6th. So they might be coming soon!!

Hi all,

I hope the application process has gone well for everybody! I submitted mine yesterday, but can not get a hold of one of my letters of recommendation to submit the letter. Does anyone know if there is an extended deadline for LORs? I will be emailing the program tomorrow to check, but I've read on last year's Stony Brook ABSN threads that LORs can be submitted up to 10 days after the deadline. Unfortunately, I could not find any info about this on the SBU nursing website or on the application so I'm stressing out a little bit. Thank you in advance for any info.

I believe you have until October 8th to get your LORs submitted.
