  1. Hi Everyone, I e-mailed admissions and they said that SOLAR information has not gone out yet and they anticipate that it will in late October. :)
  2. Hi! I have heard that having a job throughout this program is very hard. Did you work or know anyone who held a job during their time in the program?
  3. Does anyone know of any places looking for CNA's on Long Island? I feel like I have been sending in application after application but have not been hearing anything back. Any suggestions would be great :) Thanks!
  4. Would it be a good idea for me to do LPN and then LPN to RN? I know Molloy College also has LPN to BSN.
  5. Thank you I will change them. And I have taken all of my prerequisites except microbiology.
  6. Hi everyone! I'm Jenn and I live on Long Island. I have a Bachelor's degree in psychology. I struggled during my junior year of college due to outside factors. I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety and was put on meds, in addition to seeing a counselor. I am now doing much better. My GPA took a hard hit that semester, and I graduated with a 2.79, but my cumulative from taking courses at other schools is a 2.9. I really want to get into an accelerated program, but know that they are so competitive. The community college near me, Suffolk Community College, requires a 3.0 cumulative GPA for the associate's program, so I don't know if I will get in there either. I have my CNA and work as a direct care counselor with individuals with disabilities. I do direct care such as bathing, feeding, changing, and administering meds, which I believe will help me in the field. I was wondering if you guys had any tips or if anyone was in a similar situation to mine. Although I am much better, my anxiety over the thought of not getting into nursing school is overwhelming. I want nothing more than to be a nurse. I am not sure if I should try for accelerated BSN, BSN, or ASN, or if I should just start from LPN and work my way up. I really want Stony Brooks accelerated nursing program, but know they are competitive. Any advice or stories you guys have would be greatly appreciated!
