Stony Brook Accelerated BSN class of 2013

U.S.A. New York

Hey all! Just wanted to lend my support to anyone else who is applying to SB next summer! It's a grueling process :-)):yeah:

My company has said that if I get my nursing degree, they'd be happy to have me work for them as a nurse!! (assuming the hierarchy that exists there now remains!!) I'll have to get through it first, of course, but that felt awesome to hear!!

I am really hoping that we will hear back earlier than we did last year especially since the deadline is 2 weeks earlier!!

Specializes in ICU / PCU / Telemetry / Oncology.

At the information session last week, they said they will make every effort to mail decisions in January (I peeked my head in, that is how I know, lol). :D

Hi!,

Applying again this year for the ABSN, hoping the changes to my essay, letters and additional classes will help. Not looking forward to the long wait, but hopefully it will be a bit shorter than last year since the deadline is earlier. Best of luck to everyone!!

It's official !! My app is finally submitted!! Now the wait. MAY THE BEST GET IN, good luck to you all.

Hi guys! I too am applying to Stony Brook Nursing =) I completed and submitted my application to the ABSN about a month ago and am currently just working on submitting the application to the 2-year program! Eeek! Talk about nerve wracking. Is it okay to ask Santa for acceptance to the program this year!?

Okay, so I have avoided this blog for a while, but am glad to see some of the same people back applying again. I too have submitted my application and have better letter's of recommendation this time and I improved my personal statement. I also have completed all of the prereq's and am currently in a nursing assistant program at the Long Island State Vets home at Stony Brook. I do my bed lab days at the SON at Stony Brook and always wonder if any of the students I see around are ones from this blog who got accepted this year. I love the training I'm getting to become a CNA and should have a job at Stony Brook as a CNA once I graduate on Nov. 18. If I don't get into the ABSN Program this time, I don't know what else I can do to improve my chances. Good luck to everyone!!!

Are you guys just applying to Stony Brook or do you have other schools as a safety? I'm applying to Molloy as well, but Stony Brook is my #1! I made a few adjustments to my personal statement from the accelerated one over to the basic 2 year, just a few tweaks here and there. Anyone else applying to both? I also hope we hear back as soon as possible! I know come end of December I'm going to be a solar lunatic!

I'm not sure yet if I'm going to apply to the 2 year again as well. I applied to both last year.

chele, what was your background before choosing nursing? sounds like youve got a good chance to me!:)

Hi everyone! I was also part of last year's thread and like chele118 I went into hiding. I see some familiar names on here (hey Paco69, dr3amygirl, chele118, kay1024! :))

I decided to come back because having everyone's support was great last year. I'm reapplying for the 1 year and 2 year programs and hoping to make it in this year. I'm also looking into a few other schools to have some other options unlike last year.

Good luck everyone!
