Still trying to find a LPN job/ May 3, 2012

So graduated from nursing school since March 2010, got my license in June 2010. I'm in the Maryland/ Washington DC area. No one wants to hire a new gruduate. I have exhausted every avenue sent out hundreds of application no bite. Please help, I am open to every suggestions. In the next few weeks I might be homeless. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried agency or private duty? I hate to advocate working for Maxim... but they will probably put you to work.

Have you gone back to your teaching facility for assistance?

The Maxim's in MD do not hire unless you have 1 yr related experience. OP I understand what you're going through, I'm in the dmv area too & I think its so hard b/c there are tons of nursing programs. Where are u located in MD? PM me

If you are desperate for employment, perhaps you should go extreme rural, such as West Virginia or southern Pennsylvania. Many people live in WV or PA and commute into DC/MD. You could do the opposite by living in DC/MD and commuting to WV or PA.

I am in Bowie too, however I'm looking all over the state really. Like I said before there are tons of nursing programs in this area, & they're always pumping out grads. I've been licensed about a month, and a friend of mine recommended that I try some home health agencies in baltimore. Have you considered looking up there? I know of an open house at a nursing home next tuesday that me & a classmate of mine are going to attend.
