Is this bad to do?

My unit does this with COVID patients when we put the pumps outside the room. Keeps the tubing off the floor. Why would it be bad?

I was thinking it might take the paint off whatever it was stuck to.

Or leave "sticky" residue when removed, not everyone is going to clean as well as others do. In the case of residue, could be an infection control issue
