hi..are there any nurses here that would rather live in their home country than to earn lots of money in a foreign land?

As for me it is not about the money but the opportunity to advance in my career. I make more in canada than is U.S but I am in U.S just because of the career advancement.

You mean nurses earn more in Canada than in US? I better ask a friend of mine to pursue her employment in Canada because she needs to earn money to help her family in the province.

some nurses actually take a drop in wage when moving from their country to the US but all depends on what they was doing in their own country and whether their role changes when they move to the US. I am not doing it for money although I will get a bit more than I do in the UK but doing it as a chance to experience something different to what I am doing now and to gain experience in another type of healthcare setting as I have done it for just over 20 years and also a chance to work in a different country and in later years not look back on my life and say 'if only'
