If you do not have a strong math background, with at least college Algebra, I recommend that you to try to take a traditional fact-to-face Stats class instead of online. Statistics is one of those course in which online delivery has been proven to be much less effective than traditional classroom because success is highly associated with the nature of instructor-student interaction.
Statistics is not just math - it is also very conceptual. Talented instructors make the subject meaningful and create models that facilitate understanding - even if it means drawing pictures or using concrete examples to illustrate complex functions.
Hello HouTx. Did you ever take the class through the University of Phoenix online?
Has anyone taken the on line Statistics course through the university of Phoenix? Could you please share your thoughts on the level of difficulty, etc?. Thanks.

I am a graduate of UOP. I had to take Statistics in class for my Human Service Bachelor Degree. It was hard, very fast pace because it is 5 weeks. It all depends on the Professor you had as well.
The one we had would give us the problems and then test us on the same problem for our quiz and exams. The hard part was trying to go through the online MyLab portion that was homework and it was hard because you had to pretty much figure it out on your own. There was always the guide available and you would probably use it the whole time to get through all the problems. But that was for only one professor. I don't know about the rest of them. I know it is a tough course. Online I hear is much harder so you might want to consider in class verses online.
