States allowing foreign grad nurses w/non-concurrent curriculum to take NCLEX

Any foreign grad nurse with concurrency problems in any of these 13 states (Alabama, Arizona California, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Vermont, Virginia, Washington) try applying in any of the other 37 states to take the NCLEX and has gotten their ATT??? If so, can you please tell us which state and how you did it, like whether a CES was required, IELTS, english proficiency, etc.

The concurrency occurs due to cases being done long after the theory was done, CA want clinical and theory done at the same time

in my school, the theory and clinical exposure is done at the same time. i sure hope that my application will not be concurrent here in washington

Concurrent is not a bad status for your application. Your education is concurrent if your theory and cases were at the same time. You said they were, so your education is concurrent. It is good that your education was concurrent.

now i got it! thank you for explaining it! i think my application is concurrent because during my college days, my schedule was that mondays -wednesdays i spent my time in clinical exposure ans from thursdays-fridays i spent my time in theory(in classroom). i sure hope that my school did a good job so that my application will be concurrent. thanks again!

That's very good so far, you must of the 2012 batch grads and maybe where you only had the 3 cases versus the older 5 cases? Or if you had the 5 cases, your class was still doing it in accordance with the State's requirements?

There have been a few 2012 grads that got thru, but still many didn't even from the same graduating class, so it really needs to be stressed that your school transcripts and the person doing your paperwork understand with 100% accuracy or it will cause your application to be denied.

If that happens, you can have your US application re-asssessed but that means going back to square one and re-starting the process with your school all over, wasting more months.

We haven't seen very many (I think only 2 posters at best here) that were pre-2012 and got their ATT, but all others got denied (concurrency).

I guess you're applying into WA, so if you do get your ATT for the NCLEX-RN and pass, it might be possible that you can endorse your WA license into CA, with the full understanding, that the CA BON will review your school transcripts once again to see if it meets the CA BON requirements, so still no guarantee but it might work. If it doesn't, then WA will be become your nursing work location till you're ready to move. Good luck!

I graduated last 2010. I had a five cases: OR and midwifery. my schedule for two years was that 3 days- clinical and 3-days theoretical. I have 2,142 RLE hours. I sure hope that i can be eligible because i have some friends who have the same thing with me and then they passed the NCLEX. I contacted my Dean to help me in my school papers. I hope that they can really help me out.

Im just wondering, how is your application in washington state? I just moved here and currently endorsing my license.
