who didn't go to school here! I live about 45 mins from Nashville, and have applied everywhere within an hour of me and have had zero luck. I went to school in NV, dunno if that's my problem? I have been told my resume is excellent, but as soon as they see new grad they scurry! I don't get it!
Thanks, no luck yet. I have tried nursing homes and have called and talked to them but all I have heard is "We're looking for experience". Seriously. I tried Maxim and another agency and they, too, wanted experienced nurses. I guess the only thing that scares me about PRN is what can I really do with no experience? Will they do a full orientation for PRN workers? Know what I mean?
Have you looked into state/government jobs? Check out the VA in Nashville, they've been hiring a lot of new grads (I'm one who just got hired & heard the last orientation class before mine had at least 6 new nurses). Also check out the state psych hospital (Middle TN Mental Health Institute). I worked there for about 3 months before getting the VA job.
For the VA go to: http://www.usajobs.gov
Psych hospital: look up "TN state jobs" click on "vacancies" and search under "nursing".
Good luck!
I worked for Maxim Staffing in Nashville for 1 1/2 yrs. I requested only school nursing and they kept me busy till I landed a full time job as a school nurse. Love my job. They always told me they were looking for RN's to fill positions at hospitals around the area. They were always short. Good luck!

One more thing. Don't knock PRN jobs. They will offer you a full time job before you know it.
