I am considering making a move to CT and am a new graduate RN BSN nurse living in NYC. I'm currently doing some research, weighing the pros and cons of my move. Does anyone know the starting salaries at any CT hospitals and their nurse to patient ratio? I have done some digging on this site and most information seems outdated. Thanks in advance for your help! 0 Likes

CT Pixie, BSN, RN Has 10 years experience. Jun 18, 2015 It's very dependent on what area of CT, the unit, and the hospital. Our small community hospital is paying less than the bigger ones just a few minutes away. 0 Likes
knittygrittyRN, MSN, RN Specializes in Med/Surg, OB/GYN, Informatics, Simulation. Has 6 years experience. Jun 20, 2015 I work in the Hartford area at a major hospital, our starting salary is 29.00 although for nurse ratios it completely is dependent on the floor and staffing. Managers will tell you the ratios are 5-6 but since there isn't mandated staffing levels, it can be whatever. I've worked on floors caring for 10+ patients at a time as a new grad. 0 Likes
CT Pixie, BSN, RN Has 10 years experience. Jun 20, 2015 Fairfield County..I work in two of the hospitals there. Both start new grads out at $29 and change.nurse to patient ratios..depends on the unit and the shift. Since CT has no mandated laws/rules on the ratio, it is pretty much up to the descretion of the hospital. 0 Likes
xoCrash Jul 13, 2015 My sister is a new grad RN BSN and was offered $31 and change on a med-tele unit. I can't remember which hospital but it's in Fairfield County. 0 Likes
