For all of you starting Nursing school in sept, Congrats!!!!!

I guess we've all heard horror stories about how difficult it can be, and about how hard it can be to balance family, school, and clinicals.....

Soooooo...........

I'm wondering how you all plan on spending your summer, i mean it's your last free time for a long time. So, anything special planned? Any road trips or pleasure reading? Lazy days on the hammock?

I know that other than textbook reading, I'm planning as many weekend trips with my partner and son as i can possibly fit in... and i'ma sleep in at least once a week...spend some days at the beach...and my yard will get lots of attention in the form of landscaping and flower-planting.

wooooooohooooo!

enjoy your summer!!

The kids and I will be spending the days lounging at the lake!

We get a season pass every year to swim. I am soooo looking forward to their last day of school so I can have a couple months of NOT getting up at 6 a.m.!

Bevi, check out my message to you in my latest post. *snickle*

I garden and admire my yard full of red and white impatiens. I will not be able to do this when in nursing school.

I have read two Echo Heron books and am trying to remain calm.

Future RN......

Nurse Bucky,

Helloooooo you :)

I'm not sure what a snickle is, but if it has chocolate and peanuts in it, i'm SO there!:D

Red and white impatiens sound lovely! I bet your yard is striking!

We love impatiens too....This year we couldn't decide... i wanted pink and my partner wanted white...so we compromised and got both...we put in about 200  (our big splurge) It took us the past two weekends. I love em in mid july when they're big and bushy.....

Do you grow Morning Glorys?

I am starting the end of August. I'm very happy and honored to have been accepted. I have a three-day orientation this month; the last day of which we get certified in CPR. Have ordered my uniforms and I have the first semester textbooks. Kinda overwhelming looking through these books though. It'll be hard but I'm determined!

Congratulations Suzy :roll :roll ,

wow, A THREE DAY ORIENTATION! 'Tis very cool that they teach you cpr during orient. You live in my favorite state in the Union.... (Lil Rhody) Home of coffee milk and Buddy Cianci (when he's not serving time) ;) . There's no place nicer than RI during the summer!

Bevi, I do not have morning glorys but love them.

A snickle is a laugh. You congratulated me on becoming an LPN in my post. I am in the RN program. You went on and on and on....so I 'snickled'. I don't laugh out loud...ok, I'm weird.

I also have verbenas and a yard full of lantanas.

I start at the end of August and as for summer classes I only have a one credit Drug Calc. starting at the end of June.

I plan on enjoying my yard and garden. The past two years I have put a lot of work into it and this year I can enjoy it more because I don't have nearly the amount of work to do it as in the past. I guess I am really just planning on enjoying the freedom of summer and doing lots of projects on my house because I really enjoy that and I won't have the time at all during nursing school.

Days at the beach or lake or pool sound wonderful. I might try to do a little swimming too.

I have also read a book by Echo Heron and I could not put it down. I should try to get some more of her books.

I also think I will try to start training my husband how to do house work cause Lord knows it will take the whole summer for him to figure out how to do the laundry or wash dishes.

Hmmm.... that's a good idea. Yeah, I think I'll definately start training him tonight because it's bed linen washing night. That's something basic for him to start out with.

colleen, which book are you reading?

I just finished Intensive Care. I think Echo went wacko a couple of times. I am now reading Condition Critical and she talks about writing her first book.

I ordered two more and will prbaly start reading my nursing books.
