Hi,
I'm starting my first nursing classes on February 1st. I'm super super excited. I'm taking Nursing Fundamentals with skills lab and Pharmacology. I was just wondering if any of you had any tips to prepare for the class. I ordered my books and they should be here at the end of this week/beginning of next week. I already scheduled a study group with the same people I study with now. Should I read ahead? I ordered an NCLEX book because it was required for the class, but should I order the Saunders one? I heard that's a really good one. Thanks for your time! :)
Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if you have talked to anyone that has graduated or will graduate from WCU soon? I might wait to apply for CSUSB but I don't think I want to wait till 2012 to start school again. This waiting around is frustrating me!! Have you heard from other students how clinicals were like for the Ontario Campus? Any feedback will help thanks!!

Here is how I would prepare:
Have as much fun as you possibly can before school starts. Don't read ahead, you never know what your professors will want you to focus on.
The Saunders book is good, I like it and use it a lot. Don't read it before school starts. After school starts, read it and re-read the strategy content at the start of every semester. You get more out of it as time goes on.
Good luck!

you're doing really well especially in pharm =). as for fundamentals, i bought fundamentals success which is just a book of NCLEX questions for fundamentals. it has been SO helpful. It helps me review. At my school, we have to do the ATI chapters in those books that we were given the first week (that box with all those books from ATI). The fundementals one is helpful because the Potter and Perry book is the main source, so it's basically a cliff's notes. After I've read and reviewed everything, I look over those. As for the 7 hours/day. I don't know so I can't say. Sorry, they're not telling us much. Only telling us what is necessary.
To be honest, the Saunders book hasnt been helpful yet only because there isn't too much fund and pharm stuff. I'm thinking the Saunders book will come in handy next term when we start Med-Surg.
