You are reading page 2 of Starting L&D! Any suggestions to make it easier?

I just finished my Maternity Nursing class - it was 14 weeks and one of the hardest yet. We lost many students who didn't pass it. I don't want to scare you, but I don't think it was easy. Having said that, I just got a job in L&D as a CNA. I loved the class, but struggled upon occasion. My best advice: get an NCLEX book and use the maternity section in it as a reference section and the questions helped me pass my final exam. GOOD LUCK!

Same here, very cool lady. AND she has an IBCLC come in to speak on the breastfeeding part
Ours has already talked to me about doing the breastfeeding part. We have NO IBCLCs in our town. I think I'm the closest thing! :chuckle

Good luck! Hey, at least you know you can give good info, that will be great!
I'm glad my teacher is established using this lady b/c I'm too nervous about speaking in front of big groups.
Someone suggested I speak at our area LLL conference in the Fall (relating to the New Beginnings article I did, in the last issue- the anatomy one) & I'm avoiding the issue b/c I'm too nervous!! LOL

Thanks everyone for all the input. I already use my NCLEX books for review in classes - so I will continue to use it in L&D. A Great suggestion!
Thanks again!
