  1. I wear a size 8 and I ordered a 39 - but I have a wide foot too. SO I guess I did order 1 size up.
  2. If you have lower back pain you might need orthotics in your shoes to readjust your alignment. They helped me.
  3. I have worn the Lands End mocs for years- at another job. They are great -and cheap too! I did get a new pair of Danskos - Jocelyn is the style and they have a WIDE rubber heel. A bit different than the regular Dansko Proffesional shoe. Just in case anyone is interested...........
  4. The insoles in Danskos come right out so you should be able to put the orthotics in there too.
  5. I am so excited over getting my new Dansko "jocelyn " nursing shoes. I wore them all day yesterday and my feet feel great!!! Definetly worth the price or $116!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
  6. I checked withour school and the debate is still out on clogs for clinicals for next fal!!! SO I just bought a pair of Danskos and am done with it.
  7. Oh geezs...I guess I'll look into getting a pair of closed back Danskos. Thanks!
  8. I hope they are allowed...a lot of people i know have already bought them!! If not, Iwill probly get a pair of closed back Birkes or Danskos.
  9. I will be starting clinicals this fall and want to know if anyone has suggestions on some comfortable clogs to wear all day. I was looking at the "KLOGS" brand. Thanks! :-)

  11. I know what you mean about burning up the tires!! I commute from Bedford County to ROanoke an HOUR every day each way. I gotta start taping lectures just so I can learn and drive at the same time!!!!

  13. i am going to jefferson college of health sciences. it is a carillion hospital school in roanoke. has anyone heard of it or know how their rn program rates? i am a freshman hoping to graduate in 2006. i have my bs in biology and it is really helping me. so far evyting is going well. summer courses are a cram-o-rama though. 16 weeks cramed into 9 weeks for a&p 2 is hard!!!
  14. my weight..........cope: i try to stick to a diet plan - lifestyle change in eating habits age 41
  15. I worked for Johnson& Johnson Co -at ETHICON, the suture company for 8 years as a First Assistent in Pre-clincal Surgery. Pre-Clincal Surgery does saftey and efficacy Studys on devices before they go to Phase I Clinical trials. Anyway, I was a Licenced Veterinary Nurse. We did all our work on dogs (don't boo me). We did mostly orthopedic surgeries like crutiate repairs with suture anchors. I also worked in Endsocopic surgery for 4 years. Our OR had the same rules and regs as any human hospital. Our surgery suite was super advanced. Anyway...my question is how similar and useful will my Pre clincal surgery experience be for working in the OR? I am a 41 yr old first year nursing student and would like to work in the OR when I graduate. Any comments would be appreciated.......
