Anyone has experience in starting their own health care company in Florida?
I am interested in doing this, but I am currently in the research phase, such as how much money I need, licenses, etc.
Just curious about other people's experiences positive or negative.
Thanks in advance!

Hi, I'm sorry I can't help as far as Florida but a friend who started her own HH company in Colorado told me that she joined a number of HH groups on FB and learned through the members there. Not sure if that info will help you but I thought I'd pass it along anyway ?

Its possible there is a moratorium on new home care agencies, meaning the state is not allowing new agencies to be created.

Am in Florida in the process of starting up my private health & wellness practice. Mostly a private duty. I have set up my LLC company, NPI, the other thing I really need right now is to be able to bill insurance companies and get paid directly. I am stuck because most of the questions on the CMS website are so confusing.

Contact a lawyer or CPA in uour locale that handles business. They should be able to help answer the questions so that you can get started. It will be well worth the money spent

I started my own home health care agency, and I've been running it for over 12 years now. It's a bit overwhelming at first, I know! One you get the business registration out of the way, then you get to start doing the fun stuff - client care! I built a website to help other nurses start their own home care business....I'm Canadian so the business registration and licensing is different, but all the operations and client care forms should be pretty much the same.
