I am currently a nursing student at my local community college, and will be starting my first clinical rotation at Kasier in Panaroma City. The only thing is I have no idea what to expect!! my clinical instructor was supposed to e mail me some papers regarding orientation but have not received it. I would just like to know what is the step by step procedure once a first time nursing student as myself would expect to undergo once I show up. will there be just verbal meeting? packages to be filled out? drug screening on spot? Should I prepare myself to be overcome the nervousness and this anxiety of stepping into this setting? Please if anybody has been there for clinical or have had some experience as a nursing student there, please give me some insight because I basically have no paper work as a guide... what is going to happen the first day?

I had clinicals at Kaiser Panorama City my first semester of nursing school and the first day was all orientation. We learned all about the hospital and also learned about how to work their computer charting system. We also got our badges and toured the whole facility, learned where everything was ... etc...
We also went over all the clinical paperwork that we are responsible for during the rotation. There is no patient care on the first day. It's just a full day of stuff like so it wasn't so bad. I ended up LOVING my clinical instructor too, which helps a lot.
