I am sitting here all alone on my last day at my current job in OB, as the unit is temporarily closed d/t no census presently, and I am just waiting for relief from the next shift. I have been working on this unit for 8 years steadily, been here in some capacity since '91. But, now I am moving on. So many great friends and memories here, but I also need a change.
I am going to be working psych again. My previous psych experience comes from working at a state psych hospital. This time I am going to be working in a community setting, RN coverage for four crisis units throughout the county. Lots of autonomy and no real boss looking over me. It is going to be a welcome change, I think. Also, jeans again! (I like that part.) I start next week, so I'll update y'all on the new job. Wish me luck!
Yeah, jnette, I think I'll like the freedom it allows. I am going to pretty much develop the positon to what I want it to be. Of course, there are some requirements, but also the ability to be creative.
