Hi! Just starting a thread for the March 2014 Stanford RN Residency application. If you haven't applied yet, deadline is Nov. 25th at noon. Good luck, everyone!
Hi,
I just started Nursing School for my BSN last semester. I have been volunteering at Stanford for a year now and love it. Could anyone that got picked for the newgrad program PM me with some advice on what you believe you did to stand out and get picked for the program. SHC is where I really want to be when I graduate. If you could share some information, you'd be gaining some great karma and I'd be happy to return the favor one day. Thanks and congratulations. :)

I also did a summer preceptorship that was 150 hours volunteer RN time. Or student nurse anyway. But that, along with previous hospital experience (worked at kaiser as a medical assistant and unit assistant, and work at another hospital as a CNA) I think also helped. Hope that helps!!!
Hi there! I'm graduating this May, and plan on applying to the Stanford RN residency program. I am wondering if any of you who are in the program now would be willing to share what kind of GPA, qualifications, extracurriculars, and other experiences you had when applying? Also, any tips on interviewing, and what kind of questions were asked? Feel free to private message me if you are more comfortable with that! I truly appreciate any help I can get. :) Thank you all!
Hi everyone! I was curious to know if to your knowledge, stanford hired anyone who was currently in a entry-level masters program and hadn't graduated yet. I am a licensed RN, hoping to apply for the fall cohort, but I will not have my MSN and BSN degree until December 2014. Do I have a chance? Please let me know! Thank you in advance.

Hey healthyliving33! I'm unsure of this answer, but a friend of mine is two years out of Stanford's Nurse Residency program and he's a entry-level MSN... So I'll ask him and see what he says :)
Hi guys, I will be applying to the program in a week or so and had a question about the application process. I know you all are done with that but I couldn't find a thread for the upcoming cohort. The app requires you to have 3 clinical references and the instructors must also be faculty at your school. Am I disqualified from applying since my school didn't do it that way? Our clinical instructors were separate from ou faculty instructors. Did anyone else have that problem? I would imagine that most preceptors are not faculty, right? Thank you so much for your help!

Here's a little info that I got regarding orientation!
Orientation is 5 hours on 3/17 7:45 am to 1:00 pm. The rest of that first week will be the nursing orientation 8-5. There will be approximately 2-3 hours of pre-work over the internet before orientation. You’ll be paid for that time.
Hope this helps!
