Hi! Just starting a thread for the March 2014 Stanford RN Residency application. If you haven't applied yet, deadline is Nov. 25th at noon. Good luck, everyone!
Ooooihbthat is such wonderful news! Congrats delmel1! !! May I ask what time you received the call from HR about the position? I apologize to ask but I am in quite a pickle with another place. The unit I interviewed with said I will know by this Friday...so I hope they contact me early/soon! *crossing fingers*

I'll have to check! What unit did you interview with? Congrats on making it too!
I interviewed on the surgery unit. :). Still waiting to interview for the other unit
Very cool! What other unit are you interviewing for?
Just looked, and they called at 4pm! But it was for a different unit, and I was specifically told that that nurse manager does things pretty quickly, so don't worry too much! :)
Thanks bmdbmd! I chose med/surg as my other unit but haven't gotten a call from them yet! Nervously waiting. :) thanks so much delmel1!!!! :) nursingstudey15----- I agree, the unit was wonderful! Did they tell you that they will make decisions by Friday as well? I hope both of us get good news!!!!!!!!
@smuffins--Yes, they did say they would get back to us by Fri but they also said they prefer to have their candidates interview at both units so that they may choose in the case that both units present an offer. I had my interview w/Medicine today! I don't think it would hurt to call HR but maybe it just means Surg really wants you to themselves :) Never a bad thing!
I know for me I got a call from HR saying B2 wants me, but it's a tentative offer right now because they are still waiting to hear from E2 with who they want. Once they hear from E2, then they will let me know if they want me, if so, then I pick from the two units. But either way I know I will have a job which is nice. I'm happy to know we get to pick if we get both offers instead of them placing us in one of the units. Hope you both get good news!!!!!
Hi Everyone! What's the consensus on thank you letter etiquette? Hand written cards/notes or email? Congratulations to those of you who have received offers - Truly Amazing! Best of luck to the rest of us!
I personally sent an email to each unit manager because I interviewed on Monday and they told me they would let me know by Friday. I live four hours away and by the time I got home I fell asleep. Then worked the next two days. Just wasn't going to happen. Plus Stanford is such a huge hospital I didn't want to risk it getting lost. So in the email I just stated "I wanted to personally write and mail you a letter, but wanted to make sure you received this in a timely manner." Hope that helps? But I'm sure they'll be understanding! I did hand written notes for panel, but email this time. I just didn't want them to get the thank you notes AFTER they decided tomorrow lol

Each unit is different! 2nd rounds went great! One interview were questions just getting to know me, and another were behavioral questions and easy questions asking about me. (Why do I want to be a nurse, where do I see myself in 3 or 5 years, etc.) I interviewed for cardiac IICU and trauma ICU on Monday, and got an offer already from cardiac IICU, and trauma will be making calls either tomorrow or Monday! So I'm really excited! Can't wait to see who else I will be doing orientation with! Good luck to everyone!!!
