Stanford RN Residency 2014

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi! Just starting a thread for the March 2014 Stanford RN Residency application. If you haven't applied yet, deadline is Nov. 25th at noon. Good luck, everyone!

I was wondering the same thing myself. All I can tell you is that I did not submit one either.

But on other applications I have done, it always specified to include resume and cover letter

so I decided they must not have asked for a cover letter intentionally. I dunno

I just included a cover letter in my resume pdf.

Hey guys! In regards to clinical faculty, those that wrote my letters that were solely hired into a clinical role used the title Adjunct Clinical Instructor/Faculty followed by the university. In regards to submitting a cover letter along with the resume, I did not include a cover letter. I just followed the instructions and only included my resume. What I did do was put a Qualifications Highlights section at the top of my resume which was maybe about 5 bullet points. So kind of a super condensed cover letter. I also followed exactly the instructions that were included in the video that discusses how to format your resume/clinical rotations. The hardest part is definitely getting through that assessment but just stay consistent!

Also, my cohort mates and I all have such different backgrounds that it is very hard to pinpoint exactly what Stanford is looking for. That makes it pretty difficult to help those looking for advice on how to stand out. If you made it through nursing school, you're already pretty amazing so just give it a shot and see what happens.

I never expected to be in such an amazing program with a great cohort and great support from all staff members.

Goodluck everyone!! Hope this helped!

Thank you bmdbmd, that is very helpful!!

Yes, thank you so much bmdbmd!

Thank you to everyone who gave some info here! I am graduating in less than a week :)

It's interesting to hear the details of the March cohort, thinking it will be similar for the September cohort.

Anyways, I have applied and some of my friends did. They already got rejection emails. So based out of this information in the thread they we're disqualified r/o the personality test.

Good luck to everyone! This reminds me of waiting for an acceptance letter from my nursing school haha I was on here everyday. New Chapter.. New Beginnings!

Apparently someone got a call yesterday for a panel interview scheduled for July 15th. I read this on another thread. That means we should hear soon!

Hey Noodlesauce, thanks for the recon work. Which thread did you see that on?

@noodlesauce what is the name of the current smc candidates thread? I haven't heard anything back yet and it's driving me crazy! Lol

Thank you!
