I just read on the Stanford career site that as of today they are taking applicants for a new RN training program and I have read that many of you are looking for such programs.
Good Luck!!
I was wondering if Stanford is interviewing each and every person that applied? Does anybody have any clue? I had a telephone interview last week and she said there were 600 applications. Is there anybody working at Stanford or had an interview in the earlier cohorts? Thank You very much !!!
I think they are interviewing all the candidates that qualify. You know; BSN, high GPA, girl scout with medals, able to sing and dance while performing brain surgery blindfolded, with an IQ above 190, people that only pee once a month and can tap dance like Fred Astaire after 12 hours on their feet. The usual... I know it's hard everyone, I am one of the 600 as well and nervous about it, but you know in the big scheme of things, tomorrow is Christmas Eve. Take a deep breath, be happy for what you have accomplished so far, finishing school and passing Nclex and enjoy the holidays at home with the loved ones because YOU WILL get a job in the new year. All of us will, we are needed and our work was not in vain. Next year we will all spend Christmas a work so enjoy being off. Happy Holidays everyone!:snowflake::santa::hanukkahstar::hanukkah::angel::reef::christmasball::bell::tree::snowman::starornament:
I spoke with a nurse recruiter who happens to be a friend of my cousins and I asked what do they look for in a candidate. She mentioned the degree you hold, they prefer Bachelors, but will accept ADN as of right now but in the future the ADN may not be accepted. She also stated that they look at grades, they also look at they look at extracurricular activities. She also mentioned that working for the hospital doesn't guarantee a job, but that it does help especially if you want to apply within your department and your coworkers like you. What she meant is that as an employee you're not guaranteed a job, but that 98% of the people that apply within do get a job. So that really tells you something about being an employee. She also stated that in the end it's the department who decides who gets hired and not her. She's just there to shuffle through papers and pass on the likely candidates. Hope this helps for people who are in the dark about the process. Good luck to all

thank you for the comments :) merry christmas to you !
Unpleasant surprise- I'm a MEPN with RN and on my way towards MSN in Acute Care specialty. Well, I found we don't qualify-Stanford takes people with BSN and MSN graduates only, not with RN license (with Master in Biology), even when you're in a Master Entry program. And why would I want to work as a RN after I've have my advanced degree and can work/get paid as a NP? I do need to work for a 1-2 years before I continue with the MSN portion; after so much studying (and accumulated debt), I'd rather work as a NP, not RN... Just my thoughts. Merry Christmas and good luck to all!
Hello,
Happy New Year !!!!Has anybody heard from Stanford after the telephone interview. I had my telephone interview on the 18th December and never heard back anyone. I was told by the recruiter that if I am selected for the panel interview someone will contact me in 2 weeks from the day of the telephone interview. I know it is the holiday season so I am hoping I will come to know next week.
heyy, i also got a call from stanford ... i got mine on December 30th (the day after i passed my NCLEX!) the guy who called said they would be contacting me THIS week to let me know whether or not im chosen to move along in the interview process.... so i think the same probably goes for everyone. I wass probably at the end of the list of people they're calling, so i think we can all probably expect some kind of feedback soon. let me know if anyone finds out! i REALLY want this job ahhhhh ... as im sure you all do too :-) good luck!
