Stanbridge University ADN program

Published

Hi!!,

Is anyone attending Stanbridge University ADN program in March?

Pod1307,

I am sure by now you have already had your interview. I was curious to see if you got accepted and have started the ADN program at Stanbridge.

Hi Sammie07,

Yes I did get accepted and I started in October of 2016.

pod1307,

How are you liking it?! Could you tell me the way the semesters are broken into? And when the semester breaks are? I'm trying to plan a wedding and it's hard to when I STILL don't have my schedule.

Thanks so much!

It's hard to really share anything about this because the schedule is constantly changing. I receieved this month's schedule a week before January started. And I just receieved my schedule for February and March last week. Everyone gets assigned randomly for clinicals, you have no say, and lectures for February and March seem to be different almost every week. This is a big complaint everyone has for this program but they tell you in the beginning to be patient, and flexibility is a must. We did have almost a whole 3 week break starting December 14th. Not sure if you want a winter wedding. I haven't had any classes on Fridays or Saturdays tho but my clinicals are on Sundays. Other people have them on Mondays so the schedule really does vary. And you can miss one clinical, just fyi.

You can miss only one clinical for the whole duration of the program? Have you taken all of the prerequisites, or are you taking some now with Stanbridge?

No, I think it's per term but I don't remember. I completed all of my prerequisites before hand.

Hey Everyone

I wanted to know about Stanbridge what do they look for in an applicant cause my experience is that i have been a pharmacy tech for five years. Do they look at the gpa for the core classes if someone can let me know i would appreciate it

thanks

It's really a gamble... I have no healthcare experience and I had A's and B's for my pre reqs. Just avoid Kate Dang, she is a horrible student rep. She did nothing for me.

Hi, I know this post is older but i am considering Stanbridge and would love any feedback you may have. I really like the school. I just took the accuplacer exam and did really well. I pray i get in!! Thanks for your input.

I have nothing bad to say about Stanbridge, I am very happy here. You have to be flexible with your schedule, it changes almost every quarter. Working part-time should be manageable. I don't think anyone could be fulltime during medsurg. Teachers are organized and very helpful. Getting into the school... Well I don't think there's ryme or reason to being accepted, to be honest. I had no previous medical experience and I'm a 3.0 student. I think you need to be personable, motivated, and show that you're serious about committing your life to nursing school. They want a student who will represent Stanbridge on a positive light. Best of luck.

Thank you so much for your response. That's very helpful. I really hope I get in. I did well on Accuplacer and am scheduled for the ATI critical thinking in a couple weeks. So far I've had a great experience. All the staff is very nice. Thank you again for your feedback.
