I have not heard anything about it. I have worked in Albuqquerque, a lot, and that is good sign when nothing is heard (IMO).

I will ask a friend who works in the Cuba (they call it the Checkerboard) area; she is a DON at a clinic.

Thank you so much - I am trying to decide whether or not to move to Santa Fe and only have a few weeks to make up my mind. I am specifically looking at ER/ICU...the general environment of the hospital is crucial to me... if people are happy

I did a 6 month travel assignment at St Vincent 2 years ago and really liked it.I was in the cath lab so I can't tell you about other units but I found most people to be very friendly. Santa Fe is a great city but the cost of living is on the high side.Due to elevation the weather is pretty mild and the mountain views are gorgeous! Taos is a pretty drive with great skiing in the winter, and Albq. is an hour drive. I would definitely go back.Hope this helps.

Have you ever worked at St. Vincents Hospital, good and bad...?

I work there PRN and have worked there for the past few years. Santa Fe is a very nice community and a scenic place to live, but lately, life at the hospital just stinks

.

So if you are looking for a nice place to work, I would not recommend this one. If you are a patient, you enter at your own risk.....! I am probably going to quit this place and have been busy looking for another job.

I've worked at St. V's in the past. It is a nice ER. Usually very busy, and usually well staffed. It has had some management problems in the past.....but I think those are resolved.

I am in Santa Fe, St. Vincents right now on a contract. The attitude towards travelers from managements is deplorable! They make the travelers leave their keys or drivers license at personnel each and every shift you work. It is a locked facility so you have to wait for someone going in to open the door. Then on to staffing to leave your keys and get a badge you use only for the day. Then after working 12 hours its back to staffing, wait in line with all the others travelers to get your keys or d.l. They say its because they cannot trust travelers and have been burned in the past. Moral is very low. So beware if you go, they do not wants us there!!Bob

I work in ABQ and everyone that I know here calls it St. Victims. I work with several people who used to be there and have heard the stories.

I'm planning to move to Santa Fe and I was looking for a decent hospital to work. After reading this forum I'm not so convinced that I should go there anymore.

Can anyone recomend another hospital in the area? I really need to move next month and I'm still stuck on my choices:uhoh21:
