St Philip's College LVN Spring 2015 Applicants!

Published

Hey guys! Turned in my application in the middle of October and am impatiently waiting for the end of the month when we find out if we made it. :)

Does anyone off the top of their head know the hours for the daytime program? I'm blanking and can't remember. Also, does anyone know how competitive the program is or what GPA they're accepting right now?

She's putting all my info in the system right now, so I'm researching the best ways to pass nursing school in the forums lol. The canvas app reset on my phone and I can't get in again, so I can't review my A&P stuff while I wait 😒

So I've been reading through the forums and came across this thread...tips from students who passed their first semester of nursing school! I got some great ideas from it. Highly recommend a read through for everyone of us. :)

I found a good study app for Android called NCLEX PN Mastery. You should try it since you can't get to your a&p stuff.

I just got awarded a 500$ nursing scholarship from the school! Too bad it only covers half of the costs of my books lol

That's awesome!!! $500 less to spend of your own money!

That's all I spent on books

I looked on Craigslist but only found a few books . Don't laugh but I'm a lil ocd about used books. The germ factor grosses me out because they can't ever be sanitized. Don't get me wrong, I can handle a patient's poop, pee, boogers, etc. As long as it's not in my home lol.

I got selected for PQ I go on Monday to finish some paperwork.. They said they will pay for our nursing supplies and scrubs.. I already have scrubs we could wear any kind to orientation..

I'm sure you'll get PQ just stay on top of your paperwork and you'll be fine

What about books & tuition? I heard they give gas cards too but I guess it depends on their available funds.

Really well my final price for all my books was about or less than 500. So now I can go buy a good stethoscope which is what I aimed for at least half of my family has some relation in the medical field so I have lots of background knowledge but I wish I could get in to PQ I'm paying out of pocket for everything

PQ said they would cover my books, scrubs, school materials and tools, and part of my tuition ($4000 total).

Yeah they told me the same thing.. I can't believe that orientation is this week everything I'm so excited
