St. Paul's School of Nursing - Fall 2010 Acceptance

Published

I'm curious if anybody got their acceptance letter yet?

I just recently took my entrance test - it was easy. They changed the test style. After the first test comes the HESI which I know would be more challenging. The name of the entrance test is not DET anymore. It stinks considering on the application packet it says that the test would be DET and even recommended to buy the book guide - I bought it unfortunately. Anyway, anybody applied to other nursing school aside from st.paul's?

Arg anyone waiting for their acceptance letter? What's your GPA? Are you in the morning or evening program?

I'm a day student!!

They should accept all ur credits as long as there C+ and higher, thats what this lady at registrar told me. I am confused to about the clinicals/skill labs hmm...Osuro did u check out the schedule??

She also said they only accept it if its within 5yrs. I am a little confused to, I notice the day class has NURS 102 while the evening have NURS 101 LABS....I guess we will be taking it opposite semesters.

Tani,

The clinicals are going to be in 7 weeks of when school starts. I think that will take the place of the class that's there. The woman who is in charge of the registrar is beyond helpful and will answer any questions you may have.

That makes so much more sense Osuro. I wish the schedule was a bit more detailed but its better then not knowing lol. Bluefly, I was actually saying the same thing to myself.. I am looking forward to orientation to get a better idea of whats going to happen!!

Guys, have you gotten your Hep B vaccines yet? My insurance company doesn't cover it and I don't know where to go... thanks!

Yup that's odd that they would not cover it... I got mine through my employer. How much does it cost out of pocket?

hi guys just got the email with the schedule and book list. I already saw the financial aid guy. Looking foward to everything! Im also in the CPR class on the 16th. FYI my friend hadnt heard anything so she called the school and they lost her application so if any of u who havent heard, get in contact with them. With the hep b there are several locations you can get them for free. The only one i can tell of though is on junction blvd and 34 ave in queens, its through the city and its free. I suggest google to try and find different locations.

Alright so onto the important stuff! Books.....I looked up the whole list on AMAZON and it rounds out to about $450. Thats with discounts on some of the books, any other sites you guys use that give a better deal?

I did call 311 and found free hep B vaccines in Queens, and I'll be going on Friday. Would you consider buying used books? amazon.com has great deals.

I did the same thing..I looked up the books too and got around the same price. I think I am going to stick with buying used books. also check out http://www.half.com

BTW....I just noticed the person that sent out the email with the booklist/schedule failed to BBC the contacts, instead including them in the SEND portion. So now we all have a full contact list for the fall semester.
