Yes, I do.....25 years at Southcoast to be exact. I worked at St Luke's for many many years. Got burned by administration and co-workers which finally burned me out. I work in Southcoast's best kept secret...Tobey Hospital. If you want to know any specifics, let me know.
25 years. That's good to hear. I just chatted with the nursing recruiter online yesterday. She said she was going to call me for an interview. Apparently there is only 1 new grad ICU position which is already filled, so she asked me if I would mind working on tele for a bit and then transfer into the unit. I was just wondering what the hospital was about? Good to work for or not so much?

I work at St. Luke's in the Blood Bank. Hopefully I will be a nurse:nurse: some day.
Great to meet someone form my neck of the woods.
I love the people at Tobey, when we go for blood drives they are always sooo good to us. Southcoast isn't a bad place to work, I have done and been in worst places.
Maybe we could chat sometime about nursing and working at Tobey.

I did my clinnicals at both hospitals when I was in nursing school 8 years ago. I enjoyed working at both places. I do not know what they are like now, but I had a good experiance then. Good Luck!

Hi
I'm new to this area and also a new grad nurse. I have an interview at St Luke's on Monday. I drove there today to check it out, and it looks like a really nice hospital. All the research I've done looks like it is on the cuting edge with tech. I have worked at the Brigham and Women's Hospital for 10yrs as a medical assistant and a practice manager, and look forward to seeing how other hospitals work. Does anyone know if they are union? Thanks!!!

Welcome,
Good luck with your interview at St. Lukes. I work in the lab right now so if you ever want to chat, I'ld be happy too.
Thank you Kare-
I lived in the north shore my whole life, then I met this guy and married him. So long story short, I have only lived around here for 8 mths and know no one. Do you like working at St Luke's? Any pros and cons you want to send my way?
Are you in nursing school now? Where? Well thanks for your post.
Hi Jess,
I like working at St. Luke's. It is a community hospital so I don't know if it is as high tech as Brigham. But I like it. I am trying to go to nursing school now, I am waiting to hear from Bristol Community College. Any tips about surviving school....
Hi Kare-
My only tip is organization. I worked about 60 hrs per week up until my last semester, It can be done. Did you already take your pre-reqs?
Hi Jess
I have taken all my prereqs. So now it's just the waiting game. Did you have your interview yet?
Today at 1pm. I'm nervous. :uhoh21:
Are you wait listed or just wait to hear from Bristol? Are there other schools around here? Well have a good one.
