St Jude Hospital Fullerton, CA New Grad RN Program August 2010

Hello everyone! This is my first posting something on this site. A little something about myself: I just graduated December 2009 and received my RN license on March 2010. I was under a contract with a hospital down in Riverside and have been released since they had no positions open. So now, I'm here, job hunting. :(

I was just wondering, did anyone get a response, interview, got accepted into, or have any information about the New Grad RN program for August 2010 for St Jude Hospital in Fullerton, CA? I applied on April 12th and I did not get a reply from St. Jude's since. Can anyone help please? Thanks you so much! ^_^

I just called St. Jude and this lady was kind enough to give me information. The email that we're getting is a rejection email :crying2: sadly....I was soo disappointed...she also told me that there were 1400 applicants applying for the new grad position. And they already selected the people and they're mostly Internal, whatever that means. They didn't accept any one externally. Pretty much that's what's happening...if they only chose those people internally, why post it for others?

OK-I received the same email again! What is going on over there? They must have had a ton of apps. to sort through. I am again assuming it is a rejection email. I cannot call HR right now....Kuri-did you call???? Wow-this sucks, huh?:confused:

No problem. :) Lol, yeah, pretty much we did post at the same time. I know how everyone is probably stressed over this email they're sending us. Imagine, 1400 applicants to get into the new grad program. That's a ton. I'm trying my best to stay positive. It's just disappointing. I guess connections can get you anywhere. They probably some students lined up. Oh well...

So I barely received the email from St. Jude and like HR said, they filled all the New Grad positions with internal transfers. Annoying! Oh and it said due to the high volume of applicants (over 1400) they're asking not to follow up with an email or a phone call, geez.

... and the job hunt continues :down:

Wow... I totally missed the deadline for this new grad program and was mad at myself for procrastinating. I was trying to complete it on April 30th (the closing day) but they took it off their website :o hehe... now I see it was a waste to even apply seeing that they hired internally! It's sad that this new grad program was posted on INDEED and all those other job hunting sites only to find out that pretty much everyone was rejected because they hired internally.

I know-what a waste of time. They could at least let us know that they proceed internally first, but then again, that is probably the way they all do it. It seems that the next round of new grad programs might not start again until next year! Hope I am wrong!!!

We would like to thank-you for expressing an interest in St. Jude Medical Center. We have filled all of our New Graduate Registered Nurse positions for our upcoming August 2010 New Grad Program with internal transfers. We were unable to accept any external candidates.

Due to the high volume of applicants (over 1400) we are asking that you please do not follow-up with an email or phone call.

We will keep your application/resume on file for the future, should we have an opening become available.

yup that's the email I barely received today. (not sure if it's the same email people received last week.)

we just forget about them, move on, and keep applying.

No, my friend, you received a different email than I did. Sounds like they liked you but all the spaces are filled. Maybe they will call you if they have a space open up. Good luck with your search!!!!!!

I just got this email today. Well, at least this one is a more positive note than the other. And the email address looks like its directly from the nurse recruiter. Did anyone else get the email? I wish everyone luck on the job search! ^_^
