I work at Beth Israel and started out as a new grad. I am 2 months off orientation on Interventional Cardiology Unit. Orientation was great it is once you are of orientation but the nurses on my floor help any way possible. I would say that Beth Israel is excellent for learning if you are going into Peds, ED, or Cardiac Nursing I have learned so much..good luck:cheers:

Work for St B's and have to agree with previous poster....work ED, orientation approximately 4 months with several weeks of classroom time prior to floor time. ED, Tele, medsurg and others available. The system offers great training and classroom time. I love working St B's....either wa you can't go wrong.
Good Luck,
Maisy;)

St Barnabas is in Livingston
Beth Israel is in Newark
Monmouth Medical Center is in Long Branch
Community Medical Center in Toms River
Kimball Medical Center Lakewood
Clara Maas in Belleville
All part of St Barnabas Health Care system. So, if you work in one hospital, lots of opportunity to move. Newark has a top notch trauma center, St Barnabas has the burn center. Community has the busiest er in NJ. Kimball sees lots of psych, and Monmouth has the childrens hospital, just to give a quick high light of each facility. There are other facilities also, just can't remember off the top of my head!
