Spring 2018 wake tech nursing

U.S.A. North Carolina

Hey Everyone,

I am just wondering if anyone is in the same boat as I am :) I am applying to wake techs nursing program this july 31st for spring 2018. Anyone who is or had , and got in have any insight with grades that got them accepted? And all that?

I applied for fall 2017 waiting on letters now.

Oh okay. Good luck to You! Any tips for the TEAS. I have it coming up? I have read so many comments about it on here, but wouldn't mind more insight?

Thanks, best thing is to make sure you study and it's definitely easier the more biology classes you have done because science is the hardest part on the teas test. Good luck I'm sure you will do fine there is books that have practice test and their very similar to the real test.

Thanks! I have the ati book and Accepted ATI study guide. I also purchased one version of the exams on the the website. Going to purchase the second set in a few weeks and see where I am standingm thanks for the heads up with science. I hear it's pretty random!

Specializes in Pediatrics.

I talked to an advisor last week and she said to have at least 160 points to be competitive and the 180+ range is typically definitely accepted. BIO 169 is the last class I need to take and I'm not sure I'll be able to take it over summer. I went over my points with an advisor and without 169 I've got right at 161 points.

Good to hear, thank you for the update! I'm sorry to hear you may not be able to take 169. Are you able to still apply ? 161 is pretty good plus when you take 169 you'll be solid even without the TEAS even calculated! You got this!

never mind to my question, I figured it out! :)

Hi guys, I will also be applying for Spring 2018. After calculating my points I will have 186 points if I get the 20 points for the TEAS test. I'm not sure about point counts but I hope that I can get those 20 points to be competitive. I am so nervous! Is anyone else in this boat? Has anyone talked to an advisor to get any information on last years fall and spring admission points?

Hey! Anything past a 71 is 6 points, 12 points for 81 and 20 points for 91 and above. From what I have been told normally 160 points makes you competitive and usually 180 plus is generally accepted depending on what they decide.

I will have a 181 points with 6 points for the TEAS and 187 if I score the 81 or above. My goal right now is to just assure I get the 6 points. I am taking it next month, and been studying like a mad woman. So stressful!

I am really trying to push myself to get a 91. I will only have 172 if I only get the 6 points and I just don't think that is going to cut it. I finish my Biology major in May from Meredith college so I really hope that will help me do well on the science portion because I am sure that is the hardest. The practice tests that I have done for the math seem pretty straight forward so I hope that isn't going to be too bad. You should for sure get in if you have 181 with just the 6 points!! I read on one of the forums that last years spring admission acceptance points ranged from 165-210, but I am no where near 210 so that scares me!

Hey! Thats awesome you will have your bachelor's degree from meredith. I graduated from ECU

last year with a degree in Nutrition Science and Dieteitcs. Congrats on your upcoming graduation. It's very exciting! I say go for the 20. You have a strong foundation of biology already so the science should be a breeze for you. You can do It! My goal is to get 12 but if I make the 6 points I will be content, and take the test again in June.

I think someone commented on here, and hearing from an advisor last year's acceptance started at 163. I could be wrong but it was in the 160s to be considered competitive. I also feel your points are pretty solid. When are you taking the TEAS?

Have you completed your CNA class yet?

I am no where near 210 either lol. The closest I would be is 195. But I am not banking on scoring a 91 on this test haha.

Wow that's a cool major and that will help you out a lot too! I am in a CNA class now that goes through June and I haven't signed up for the TEAS yet, but I am going to soon. I have a girl in my anatomy II class and we had lab today and she said someone in the admissions office told her that if they see that you have a bachelors degree it kind of bumps you up higher than those who don't have one (not sure how accurate that is though). She applied for the fall 2017 wake tech class and had a point count of like 164 I believe and got 6 points for the TEAS but she said she has not heard back whether she got in or not.
