Spring 2012 Samuel Merritt ABSN applicants

Published

Just submitted my application today and was wondering if anyone else is with me for the stressful wait. I applied for the Sacramento Campus

Oh man, I hope they got my application. I applied for the fall, & I was given the option to roll over my application for the spring to San Mateo & Sac, so I did. They told me they sent it over, but got no e-mail at all. I didn't get an e-mail from the fall cohort either, until they told me the status of my app (I got waitlisted), so I'm hoping the same thing happens for Sac. Any one else not hear or did hear back from Sac?

My friend also didn't get any emails when she applied for the fall. I think you should email/call them just to make sure since they seem a little unorganized.

This is from the most recent email I received from the San Mateo admissions counselor. I hope it helps.

Wow, San Mateo is on top of it. Just got the bare minimum of info from Sacramento that was already posted. Anyone have the applicant stats from Sac? (how many applied, were forwarded, etc.)

I got a new message from L. in Sac the other day saying that my application was being forwarded to the faculty for review, but the time line was still the same. There was no info about the applicant pool. I know this doesn't help much - but at least we can figure that they are in the process of reviewing applications. Good Luck everyone!!

Specializes in Oncology.

Posted in the wrong forum, sorry.

I got an email saying I needed Pathophysiology and Pharmacology as prerequisites. That confirms they got my application.

Anyone else started thinking about financial aid? The 58K price tag is starting to scare me a little.

Hey guys!

I am actually applying for the Summer 2012 SMU ABSN program, but I thought I'd post my question here.

1. Regarding the letters of recommendation. I have 2 from RN's that I volunteer with and 1 from a supervisor in my non-medical related career. Do you suggest I send off the 2 RN's letters or switch it up and send 1 RN and 1 work related?

2. Did you all take the TEAS V? I thought it was extremely hard and I'm hoping that everything else I have to offer will overshadow my TEAS score!!!

3. Jamalu - you didn't take pahto or pharm? Isn't that a requirement for the program? Are they still considering your application?

Thanks and GOOD LUCK!

1. I can't answer your question about which letters of rec to go with. I had one from a health care professional and one from a professor. My gut feeling is to go with the two nurses' letters as they would have the best perspective on whether or not you have the personality suited for nursing.

2. I took the TEAS V and the TEAS IV last summer. I personally thought that everything on the teas V except the english comprehension was easier than the TEAS IV. But I bought the study guide before taking the V and not the IV, which I think made a difference.

Gosh...is anyone else getting anxious and going crazy waiting for the decisions??? I know I am! 2 more weeks to go for the San Mateo folks....

Sorry, double post

Ugh, I wonder how long the wait is for Sac? I jump every time the phone rings and it is a number I don't recognize.

Ya I'm going crazy waiting too! Counting down the days!
