I applied to the Sac ELMSN program. Passed TEAS but not high scores as I had hoped. Grades are great, but worried about TEAS. Does anyone know how many people applied to the Sac campus and how many people they are accepting?

Hi All! I also applied to the San Mateo cohort and was really surprised that they only received 53 applications for the spring. It almost sounds like we all have a great chance of getting in, as long as we meet all the requirements! Hopefully I'm not being too optimistic!

fall 2011 was the same as there was a low turn out for applications, so they actually extended the application deadline as well. they may do the same for spring 2012 for wait listers just in case as things come come up for those that are accepted (people applying to multiple programs and accepting other school, not completing the requirements in time, realizing that they could not afford tuition, etc.)

Hi RN hopefuls!
I'm currently in the SMU ABSN program in Oakland. 2 months in! I got in early with a 91.8% TEAS (Adjusted Total Individual Score), 3.8 overall GPA and 3.75 Science GPA. There were people pulled off the waiting list all the way up until the first day of class so don't give up hope if you don't get a call right away. So far, I love it! It's a bunch of money but I'm very happy so far with the instructors, the schedule and my clinicals. Our cohort is 34 women and 14 men -- ages 23 to 58! I'm 39 years old and feel like I'm in the middle of the pack in terms of age. Our cohort is super supportive of one another and not overly competitive, which I heard has been a problem with previous cohorts. I have two kids, ages 3 and 6, and my husband works full-time but the scheduling is doable. To give you an idea of the first three sessions (and PLEASE NOTE that every cohort every year has a different schedule so don't bank on this):
Session I (5 weeks):
Lecture/Lab - M/W 8:30am - 4:30pm
Lecture - T/Th 9-noon
Fridays off!
Session II (5 weeks):
Lecture/Lab - M/Tues 8:30am - 7:15pm (long days)
Skills Lab (on campus) - Wed 9am - 4pm
Clinicals (I'm at Kaiser Walnut Creek for the entire year) Th/Fri 2:15pm - 10:45pm
Session III (5 weeks):
Skills Lab - M 2pm - 8pm
Clinical (Kaiser WC Med Surg) - Tues/Weds 2pm - 10:30pm
Lecture - Th/Fri 9am - 4pm
Weekends off for now (except need time to study, etc.) but we will start weekend clinicals in October. Hope this helps!!!

Has anyone who applied to Sacramento got an e-mail about anything? I applied to both, and got e-mails from San Mateo, but nothing from Sac.

the last i got was about a month ago saying that they got my application. it came with this timeline:
i suspect it will be fairly quiet for a while. i figure that they are pretty busy with the elmsn interviews coming up soon. thinking that really doesn't help much though, i still keep hoping for some word whenever i check my messages.
i think we'll find out as soon as today and as late as next week. i was an applicant for fall and got word two weeks before they stated they would be giving notice. of course that was the first round of accepted applicants, they then started filling the rest of the spots over the course of 3 weeks.

Oh man, I hope they got my application. I applied for the fall, & I was given the option to roll over my application for the spring to San Mateo & Sac, so I did. They told me they sent it over, but got no e-mail at all. I didn't get an e-mail from the fall cohort either, until they told me the status of my app (I got waitlisted), so I'm hoping the same thing happens for Sac. Any one else not hear or did hear back from Sac?
I also got the same e-mail with that timeline from the counselor from San Mateo. Oh & fyi, for anyone who had classes in progress during the summer &finished it already.. the faculty will not see your unofficial transcripts even if you send it to them. I e-mailed my unofficial transcripts from my classes I completed to the counselor, and she e-mailed me back saying she cannot add it to my file because there are way too many applications for them to pull one out & update. Kinda sucks beause I worked so hard to get my grades this summer so they'll boost my GPA but the faculty who is reviewing my app won't even see it.. Not really fair, in my opinion. =/
