spring 2010 Nursing program at suffolk community college

I am looking to apply for Fall 2010...probably will NOT get in..but I am applying directly to Suffolk as a transfer from out of state..so how do I get this nursing application? Do I just state my major on my application...is it an actual seperate application?

If you are not attending Suffolk and have all your pre-reqs then all you have to do is apply online and state your major but if don't have pre-reqs than you have to apply to Liberal Arts Science

Thank you so much! I am taking Sociology now..and will be done in May with it..I know that is one of the pre-reqs..does that automatically mean I can not apply for nursing program b/c it's not already done?

Is that your last pre req? And are you taking it at suffolk? If it is last pre req than what are you waiting for apply. If you are taking it in suffolk just go fill out change of emphasis at admissions.

Starting at Grant later tonight. I'm excited! At the orientation in December, the dean said that it was the most competitive application semester she'd ever seen. That's why they doubled the seats in the program and that's why I think the mean GPA was around 3.8 or something. Everyone I spoke to had a 4.0 and Micro done. I hope that means stiff competition throughout the duration of the program. When I got my first bachelors at Stony Brook, the competition between students was what drove me to do well since most people were competing for med school spots. Good luck to everyone starting at Grant tonight. If anyone has a Thursday clinical at St. Catherine's, I'll be there.

I am looking to apply this coming Fall for the 2011 class...I have an A in English, B in A&P1, B in Psych and currently taking A&P2 (so far an A average in A&P2)...I will be taking Micro in the Fall and I already took Sociology and got an A. Any advice about my grades would be appreciated...should I take any classes over? How do my chances seem?

I have a quick question. I was actually ready to apply, as a transfer student and when I spoke to a lady in admissions she told me on the phone if I'm not from Suffolk that I cant apply.... Just wondering if that true:confused:

I got accepted into Spring 2010 Nursing Evening program at Grant. I am super excited and worked really hard the last year and a half to finish all the prereqs. As for what I did to get in...I had all my prereqs finished and I am just taking Micro right now-I have all A's in my prereqs.

I also finished all my non-nursing courses for the program, so once I start in January all I have are my nursing courses. And when I submitted my application I also submitted a short personal letter and a letter of recomendation. I know they do not require this and say you don't need it...but I figure it couldn't HURT my chances. When I applied I went in with the idea that every other student had a 4.0 GPA, and I needed to stand out from the crowd, so if a letter of recommendation would help, what the heck!

Looking forward to meeting anyone else that got accepted! And good luck to everyone else still applying!!

Hi! I had a 4.0 and got accepted, but I have know of some other kids with 3.8 that didn't get in...so it is really tough!

I applied for the spring 2010 and was denyed. So

im retook Psy101 in the wintersession to hopefully raise my GPA so I can hopefully get accepted into the Fall 2011 Program

And Guess What, :dncgbby:just got a Call over the Spring Break and Admissions told me I was excepted into the Ammerman Campus Day Program!
