For those doing AO are y'all applying for loans? And if so, when? I talked to financial aid yesterday and they gave me a vague anwer about getting more info for loans at orientation. I know in a previous year orientation for AO wasn't until the first week of December and that just seems late to me. I've also never taken out loans before so the whole process is a little bit foreign to me

I just applied for loans. You can go to Home - FAFSA on the Web - Federal Student Aid to apply as the loan application is valid for the 2017 - 2018 period.

I am taking out a loan because I will be quitting my job to focus on school. Maybe in the second or third quarter I'll work but I have to see how I balance everything first. I was going to look and apply for loans maybe in December or November. I work at a bank so I get a discount on the interest rate. I am also trying to save up as much as I can now so I don't have to take out a large amount.

Cool, I'd rather do it now and get an idea of what I'm getting instead of waiting until orientation. I'm also working to save as much as possible because come January I'll only be working like 12 hours a week just for spending money

@jenneraytion I wish I can work 10-15 hours a week for spending money because I like shopping and eating well. But I know myself, I won't be able to handle work and the intensity of the program.

Did you ever have trouble with MDC and financial aid because you have the bachelors? I know we are not eligible for grants but doing a loan through FASFA is the best interest wise. I will have to go to financial aid and see why its saying I have missing documents. This is what they emailed me. I put I had a bachelors degree and they have my bachelors on file so I don't know whats the problem. Ugh, hopefully its not busy when I go.

They sent the same thing to me like 3 times. I went to the medical campus and saw someone at the financial aid window and she's like "oh yea I can see that we already have your transcripts so I'll just clear this hold for you -_-. So idk if it's just someone being lazy but I recommend you call first and get it taken care of over the phone if possible. I drove all the way down there to be there for 30 seconds

Thanks. I'll call first that way I don't have to waste my time going for such a short amount of time.

I tried calling financial aid and they transferred me to admissions, then admissions transferred me over to the records department. So I'll just go in person because I hate when people give me the run around.

Hey guys! Hope everyone got through the hurricane Ok! I have a gpa that's 3.5 and my hesi score was 81. Do you guys think I have a chance to get in ?! I'm so nervous!

Sorry, I've been swamped with school. On the FAFSA you have to select the following:

#29. 2nd YR./Sophomore

#30. Associate Degree (Occupational or Technical Program)

Let me know if that works.
