This message is for anyone who is discouraged or thinking about giving up. I have been applying to nursing schools for a total of 5 years. I have a previous degree and an impecable GPA as well as great HESI scores. I was denied to BSN schools 5 times before I decided to "go for the underdogs" as one of my professors put it. (I do not believe Lonestar falls into this category I just want to clarify that ADN was just something I hadn't considered).

Long story short I was denied into another ADN program last semester before I FINALLY got into CyFair!

My score is 7.71. HESI overall (I believe) was 96.

I truly belive GOD had a plan for me, and getting into all those other programs was just not His plan. I am meant to be a part of this cohort and I am so happy I didn't give up! If you've read this far, I just want you to know that God's timing is the BEST timing, even if YOU have other plans. DO NOT GIVE UP!! Keep trying, re-take classes if you need to, re-take the HESI (whatever it takes) just DON"T give up, don't feel discouraged! Your time will come!

I was accepted as an alternative 7.424 for Kingwood. Sad because I thought I would be accept right away but hopefully i can get in!

Submit alternate form ASAP. Lots of people drop before program starts due to many reasons.

I received an alternate letter as well, but for Kingwood. I am actually really surprised because I did not think that the cut-off would be so high. Was kind of hoping it to be around 7.3 or 7.4 for Spring.

Same here! I'm an alternate. I think the cut off score was 7.5. I got a 7.456.
