I've decided to make this page for anyone applying for the Spring 2019 ADN program at Lone Star CF/K. I'm so nervous and it's still kinda far away! Good luck!
I finished my courses in August and the "extra time" I have is killing me with anxiety, I had two other applications due 9/1 so I am really on edge for results so I can make a decision on which program is in my future, whether by acceptance of choice! lol.
I was afraid of having that happen for me so I started pulling down all the classes I could this fall. If you haven't taken lifespan and plan to get your bsn, that's a class you'll need for sure. I haven't seen any school other than Lonestar not requiring it. So I did that. Biochemistry is another one but Lonestar doesn't offer. If HCC offers it over a mini-mester I'll totally do that too to pass the time. But I guess with free time you have more time to prepare for the program. I started reading a second edition nursing fundamentals book (I think 4 is the current, maybe 5) just to occupy my time before fall classes started.
I'm late to the nursing degree thing so I am taking medmicro now and pharm as well. Super busy. That on top of working 40 hours a week has been carrying me. It's already exhausting and I'm already counting down til the next break, but by that time we will all have gotten our acceptance letters into our nursing programs of choice

Are you from Austin as well? I noticed your screen name, but feel free not to answer that. I saw your username and I legit feel like I'm the only austinite in the world of Cypress lol. Like why? Why here of all places (I get that a lot)

Not Austin, but we did just moved here from San Antonio though, lol. I actually live in the Spring area, but Cy-Fair is still my first choice just because of the accelerated aspect of the program.
After my husbands time in the military we decided it'd probably be easier to go to nursing school in an area closer to my parents for help with our children which is what brought us here.
Anyone have good advice for studying pharmacology? I am taking these PrepU quizzes and as I take them I feel like I'm dumb because I've taken notes and read the textbook. But I'm doing poorly
I have cinquemani and she posts her lectures and stuff online. She also does in person reviews. I don't know how well I'm doing yet because we haven't turned anything in yet, but I don't feel like I'm completely drowning. She also lets us do the interactive modules to learn. I'm focusing on her ppt, the key terms and key points and the outline she gave us and am hoping for the best! We have to learn like 30 drugs in 2 weeks. Or what feels like 30. Didn't count lol

Thankfully my professor allows us to take them as many times as we need in order to score as high as we can. I make multiple attempts until I score an A.

I'm working about 55 hours a week teaching right now and taking online pharmacology, so I'm definitely not feeling like I'm getting ahead lol. But very ready to find out if I got in.
