Hi
does anyone know of any hospitals who are currently sponsoring uk nurses to come and work in the usa without going through agencies. I have 6 years itu experience but for the last 4 years have specialised in cardiology, but would like to return to itu. I would need to sit the nclex exams. I am flexible about any area of the usa. Any help would be much appreciated.

If you go to the Nursing Discussions by Locations then General International Nursing, you will see two threads 'CGFNS/Visascreen Certificates' and 'Resource list for working in US'. You should find all your questions answered there. If you have any other questions, post them on the International Nursing section, there's always someone who can help.
Good luck, let us know how it goes :)

Whilst researching for the move from the UK to the USA I contacted several hospitals Stateside to see what sponsorship was available... It certainly seemed that most hspitals were more approachable about sponsorship than taking on international travellers through agencies (although this was not always the case). My advice would be to decide where you wanted to work, then telephone the human resource dept for that hospital. All your q's will be answered.
