Sponsors and Nursing degrees

Hi,is that true that an RN should hold a BS degree to provide a sponsor?

A friend living in Texas told me that but i didn't believe him ,is that true?

I trained over 16 yrs ago and didn't have degree or diploma training but my training does meet current criteria so have had no problem finding a hospital tp petition me :wink2:

Yes and no. The requirements for licensure in the US is that you are a "professional" nurse in your country, or would be equivalent to that. Whcih means that currently in most cases that is a 4 year degree, or a 3 year Diplome. In the US, if you attend school here, then you can get a green card with just a two year degree, but that is no longer the case for most that trained overseas.

Most "professional" programs are three years of longer to be considered for the US.

Thank you all and especially Suzanne.I am a Reistered Nurse in my country and i sent all my papers for ICD center and my degree is 3 years.

It depends on how many levels of RNs that they have there. You have to be considered a First Level Nurse, that is the only requirement.

You should be fine.:)
